IDEAL WORLD

As I woke up early in the morning and prepared to go to a mining site in Moatize Mozambique, my colleague was already up and sitting in the living room with the CNN news on. And in the news I heard about the recent attacks on Christians and other religious minorities by the Islamic jihadists and also about the recent news hype on the unrest about the police force and the citizens of Ferguson Missouri in the United States of America. I went on about preparing for the day and making my lunch, I tried to do my best to ignore the negativity of the news that was on. I am not really a fan of news or television at all. With the news being on, I heard commentary on how the attacks on the religious minorities ,particularly Christians, is "genocide", a bit of an exaggerations though, and with regards to the Ferguson unrest that this incident now was seen as a racist unfolding of a white police officer shooting an unarmed black teenager. I couldn’t help but still wonder on how th

SEASONS OF LIFE

I am at the airport waiting to board a flight going to Mozambique and i had a sudden burst of inspiration.  I believe that for us to work and livean inspiring Life we ought to be in constant awareness of inspiring insight or information. and so as I am about to board an airplane, I want to share with you insights about the seasons. The insight I wish to share comes from Jim Rohn which is about the Four Seasons Of Life (he wrote a book on this subject), and here is the wisdom I got from him. He says: “Life and Business are like the changing seasons” , fairly obvious but also easily forgotten because of its simple nature. But its true, Life is like the changing seasons (the business cycle in economics or entrepreneurship as it is often referred to). After fall comes winter. After winter comes spring. And after spring comes summer. All with regularity and pray tell how often. Is this a reliable way to look a life and business? After night comes day. When the sun goes down and i

COGNITIVE DISSONANCE - CHALLENGING BELIEFS

Cognitive dissonance focuses on how humans strive for internal consistency. It is the excessive mental stress and discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values. I got introduced to this term a while ago and had an Aha! moment, when I saw this picture on Facebook which completely explained a psychological phenomenon I just could grasp. I would often observe and wonder how come people couldn’t easily grasp and accept a simple understanding and sensible reason to an erroneous notion they held. Especially regarding religion, god, sexuality and morals. People seem to always demonstrate a deep seated unwillingness to alter their perception of what they have sold themselves to believe it’s true that, even the most sensible arguments are simply pushed aside for the favour of their usually inherited assumptions about

THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS

I must first admit that I have been procrastinating writing this article for some time now because I just didn’t know HOW to write it. Honestly I am reluctant to say the “I was busy!” excuse, that would be an invalid excuse from my part. As the adage say, “if you want to do something you will find a way. If you don’t you will find an excuse.” So I am done making excuses and just going to write it once. I regard my work or Art, as compiling a continuous production of songs. Some songs will be hits and people will easily like or enjoy them. Others, people will find a bit hard to get into the “groove” of and may need time for the song to grow in to them. I mostly write out of that inspiration. And every time that I get a burst of insight and different emotions. Sometimes they are colourful, uplifting and inspiring, and sometimes they are not easy to swallow or make you feel jolly because they provoke something you may not like to think about. But in every one of them, I see it as exp
