SIGNIFICANT FIGURES

On the bus to work I was busy go through my budget this month in my head. And as I was doing that, I was thinking of how we always have to make arrangements for unforeseen expenses, so I was thinking along the line of "roughly it will cost me this much." However as I had that thought another then just came up, and that was there are no insignificant numbers. Numbers that have no bearing to the total sum whatsoever. As an engineering student in my first year I got introduced to an unfamiliar term, "significant figures", quite frankly I am surprised I still remember this.In engineering and science we have to account for the significant decimals places that are there in a number. (Google this). For example if a number has the highest numbers of significant figures meaning more numbers after the decimal we take that as the numbers of significant figures we must round of to. So if you have a number that is 2.0003, those zeroes are significant because they can/will

CONSUMPTION VS CONTRIBUTION

I haven’t been feeling like writing for a while due to deadlines that I had to meet with my work  commitments, and I apologise for that. However I just thought I should squeeze in this article because I just had another thought regarding wealth which I wanted to share with you. I was sitting at a mining site I was mildly observing the people and their work patterns which are very different from your usual office work. The operation times are different, even the respect for time is different. Objectively they hardly start on proposed time either due to it having a huge landscape thus automatically making people to over-exaggerate their travel time from one venue to the next or due to simply not feel much urgency to keep time. A "what will be done will be done, in time", whether in the appointed time or not. Lol I know it sounds like I will be talking about time management as a wealth asset, which is true, but not this time. So as I sat waiting, I observed people and a t

THE POWER OF THE BIBLE

Here’s a question I would like to you to ponder over, is the bible popular because it is powerful or is it powerful because it is popular?. It is always amazing to observe how people easily neglect certain wisdoms and truth in  favour of their religions  in spite of them agreeing with the sensibility in them momentarily . This is especially truth when it comes to Natural Laws which most people believe it is some eastern mystic. People easily brush aside the truth about these laws (primarily because they seem to put into question what we have convinced ourselves to be true) in favour of their worn customs.  And no more so is this observation evident than when it comes to the bible. The reason why the bible is the most commonly referenced book, even by those who don’t really read it but seek refuge whenever their prejudices are brought to scrutiny, it is not because of it is truth but rather because of its popularity. I am not saying that it isn’t true. Being a student of life t

The God Idea

"The world is charged with the grandeur of God". This is a line from a 1918 poem by Gerard Hopkins, and it was my senior year heading for a speech I gave to my classmates. (Great speech I must say). Nonetheless,  I'm reminded of it because of a Facebook update I saw about the goodness of God: "God is good all the time??? Some women have cancer!!! Some people just laid their mothers to rest!!!Some people are homeless!!! Africans are starving and there's even drought there!!! So...before you say God is good all the time don't be selfish just think of the innocent child that is in hospital for that tumour in his head don't be selfish.” Quite angry huh?! In my speech I used the tactic of the speech that Mark Antony used at Julius Caesar’s funeral used to emphasis his point about the Caesar’s greatness after Caesar had been murdered by Brutus. Through repetition unto irony, he raises questions about the supposed ambition of Caesar, especially given his

EVERYTHING IS A SUGGESTION

Did you know that everything is just a suggestion? Yeah sure, something can be presented as facts, but what facts are actually are, is condensed and concentrated suggestions. Consistent suggestions that then prove to appear as concrete truth even to a mind that is laying hold of them for the first time. Facts are concentrated ideas about something that eventually they become hard to simply dissect them to their core origins of a suggestion. Everything is a suggestion up until the mind perceiving or observing them starts accepting them as truth, meaning up until it starts to concentrate its powers of focus to moulding that suggestion in such a way that it becomes a permanent thought known as a fact.  This is really an interesting thought to ponder about, but it would be best to put it into test and observe whether or not what is being suggested here is true or not? After all we are all scientists, maybe not in the conventional word itself; we are all perceivers of things around us

THE DAY THE WORLD CHANGED ITS SHIRT

Remember how the new black came in not so long ago and how every fashioniaster suddenly had to have it in their wardrobe collection? This black was often shunned very much and was strongly avoided by any male of any culture. It was a black that was associated as being feminine and has been accepted as such for many generations. And then suddenly what happened? Every male who is an avid lover of fashion, and social approval, started having this black. No longer was it now a black that had to be avoided at all cost out of fear of being perceived as  less masculine but a definite "MUST HAVE!".  I bet you know what I am talking about; how pink suddenly became the in thing and the new black in a male world. There was/is this strong belief, mental association of pink being for women that even females played a part in making this a really pungent  belief in society. Who knows,  maybe psychologically that is how we are wired, where it is simply DNA restructuring through the pro

RADIOACTIVE UNIVERSE

Did you know that everything has its own radio frequency? Like everything around you, and the entire universe emits a frequency.. That's why things that may look the same are actually not the same. Do you know that the universe responds to the vibrational frequency of things. And also did you know that when we speak of "like attracts like", we are speaking in terms of vibrational frequency.. That's why you will find happy people with happy people. Sad, grumpy, cynical people with their kind. A vibration of fear or love can easily determine what outcome will be experienced when a robber stops by at a corner. Fear of being robbed is what attracts robbery, because the vibrations match up. The robber wants someone whose fearful that he can rob, and your fearfulness of being robbed completes the equation of making the robbery experience possible. The love of knowing, or awareness that you are guided and protected is what makes one, at most times, an unlikely candidate fo
