THE WHY IN THE WHAT ~ By Humphrey Kubheka

I believe that inspiration is a source in a great life lived. Inspiration is the thing that moves one from a very dull, uninteresting and hopeless state of being. To an energised, clear minded and purposeful state of being. I know for one that if I were to keep pursuit of my goals and plans, a sense of inspiration needs to be present. And so as you set off to achieve, accomplish and to reach whatever objective or desired results, mostly it is with that sense of inspiration that you begin your respective endeavours. But as with many of us, while on our way pursuing our visions things somehow get to a dull, fussy and hopeless state. Even the very thing you set out to do seem quiet dull and pointless.  Your energy levels and drive all but dissipate. Your efforts and input seems to yield not much desired results and with that comes a lot of negative self talk like:” do I think I am really going to make it? Maybe my vision is just too lofty to be actually realized” and so forth. To the point where the thought of even the goal you set out to achieve have turned to a thought that mocks you.

All of this eventually leads to a somewhat depressive state of being. You start to doubt your resourcefulness, your tenacity down to everything you dared thought you were. All of life as we know it seems pointless and cruel to you. Just like most of us, you set off with a sense of great clarity, focus and determination, but somehow you find yourself disoriented. You find you are not sure as what else to do or the next thing to do to move closer to your dream or goal. You find there’s virtually no resource at your disposal and you have no other person who can assist you emotionally, intellectually or materially. Something happened and it happened quite insidiously with little or no awareness from your part. Something that dries out all inspiration and a sense of purpose.

The very thing that gets blurred is the Why you want to do what you want to do. The moment you reconnect and come back to basics, the very thing that moved you to get up in the first place and say I am doing this, is the very thing that will set your mind, body and spirit to the condition it needs to be in and that condition is Inspired, energised, focus and determine. You’ll know that you are just a few more steps away from that success you desire, when you get back to your roots. My roots for example is to move people to a better them in a soul level through my wisdom and art forms I’m inclined in. just the thought of impacting another soul or human being with my expressions and knowledge is the ultimate source of inspiration for me.

And to find the How in the What, we need to take care to remember the Why.” Why do I really want to do this? And only you can determine what it is that moves you to do what you want and need to do. It is in the Why where the How is answered. It’s in the Why were your mental capacity expands and offers answers to the How. So to get back to a point of clarity, focus and determination- get back to what the soul desires to achieve. Remind yourself Why do you want to start and finish this that you want. The moment you spend adequate time on that, the quicker you become clear, focused and inspired to finish.

THE TRUTH ABOUT POSITIVE THINKING

Positive thinking doesn’t work for most people because of one simple truth and that is – Thinking is a skill. And most people haven’t mastered The Art of Thinking. Just because you can inhale air in an out of your lungs doesn’t necessarily mean you know how to breath effectively, remember how as a  kid when the doctor instructed “breathe in” and you would actually make a whizzing sound when in haling because you wanted to indicated that they are breathing, because you clearly knew there was more to it.  So you see, it actually is a skill. I was inspired to write this article tone because of a post someone had forwarded to me. It said… “…Positive thinking is offered up in the U.S. as a cure for cancer, a path to untold riches, and a sure-fire way to engineer your own success. Indeed believing that success depends upon one’s attitude is far preferable to Americans than recognizing that their success is the outcome of the tilted scales of race, class, and gender. As Eh...

Generation eXcellence

I was reading some wonderful notes from Robin Sharma's Little Black Book of Stunning Success ( http://www.robinsharma.com/leadership-best ) and a thought crossed my mind: have we settled for mediocrity in our society?  Have we  allowed ourselves to tolerate mediocrity in our lives, because the truth is we interact with the aspects of the world which match our own standards. We see the world not as it is but as we are . How often do we offer less than our best to the quality of relationships with ourselves and things.? Are we allowing the quality of our lives be compromised due to what everybody else is doing? This is even evident  to how we  treat nature. The care with which we have for our natural environment is something of grave concern, and many defend this mediocre behaviour with "everybody else is doing it." and the worst one yet, "We are creating jobs for others"  Have we accepted me...

A MAN CAN CHOOSE TO BE ANYTHING

"A man can choose to be anything. He can partake in, be a part of anything that he wants to. He can become a beast, he can become a god. He can do anything." This thought keeps reappearing in all the writings of man. It states that we become what we choose to become whether we realise it or not. This is so true because as I grow older, I notice just how broad my being is. BEING : the continuous movement of becoming!! As a high school pupil I only saw myself as a math and science student whose aim was to be a master of science and nothing more. And then in  first year varsity I noticed my perception   grew   from a science student to one whose aim was to be a respectable chemical engineering professional, then suddenly I noticed that not only do I love science, but I have a proclivity for some business,  philosophy and even writing who knew!! And then that grew to psychology, which grew to  philosophy and spirituality and all of this my high-school-year old...
